Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive malignancies, accounting for more t deaths annually in the U.S. alone. The aggressive nature and late diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, coupled with the limitations of existing chemotherapy, present the pressing need for the development of novel therapeutic strategies. Recent reports have demonstrated a critical role of microRNAs (miRNAs. Iminosugars are sugar analogues endowed with a high pharmacological potential. The wide range of biological activities exhibited by these glycomimetics associated with their excellent drug profile make them attractive therapeutic candidates for several medical interventions. The ability of iminosugars to act as inhibitors or enhancers of carbohydrate-processing enzymes suggests their potential.

The world looks to the DCRI as the definitive leader in cardiovascular clinical research, implementation science, and education. Through the thought leadership of our physician-scientists, cutting-edge analytics, and operational expertise, the DCRI leads the way in improving care and outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease. Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is underdiagnosed, undertreated, poorly understood, and much more common than previously thought. 1,2 In the current article, the term peripheral artery disease will be used to denote vascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis of the abdominal aorta, iliac, and lower-extremity arteries leading to stenosis or occlusion.

FASt Data Presentations II – Clinical and Translational Science Janine Hutson, B. Stade, Denis C. Lehotay, and B.M. Kapur (University of Toronto) examined the nutrient composition of maternal and cord blood sampled at delivery from alcohol-abusing mothers and controls; many in the alcohol group were also drug found that women consuming >8 drinks/wk had significantly lower folate.

The new edition of Cardiac Intensive Care—the only textbook dedicated to cardiac intensive care medicine—chronicles the progress made in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of patients with critical cardiac illness.

Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions Impact of New-Onset Left Bundle Branch Block and Periprocedural Permanent Pacemaker Implantation on Clinical Outcomes in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement.

Therapeutic use of light and lasers continues to find new, targeted applications, aiming for safer interventions with more predictable outcomes. Examples include laser angioplasty, pacemaker lead removal, and ablation of erratic conduction paths in the cardiac wall.

New Impact Factor for Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy: We are pleased to announce that the Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy (CDT) has attained its latest impact factor update for the citation year: The impact factor, as published in the annual Journal Citation Reports (JCR), is a calculation determined based on the number of citations accumulated in for.

Cardiovascular Intervention and Therapeutics (CVIT) is an international journal which spans the field of cardiovascular disease. Coverage includes cardiac (coronary and non-coronary) and peripheral interventions and therapeutics. CVIT offers original articles, images in cardiovascular intervention and invited review articles.

All articles are. The Textbook of Cardiovascular Intervention is intended to provide a modern, comprehensive and practical text on interventional cardiology for the current, rapidly evolving practice environment.

It is written by a group of worldwide experts in the field and will appeal to fellows, residents and physicians in cardiology, interventional. The cardiac centre of Shisong inaugurated few years ago is a good example of the mobilization of humanitarian resources from the north and south for the improvement of cardiovascular diagnosis and.

More than illustrated chapters dedicated to diagnosis, coronary interventions, structural heart disease, and peripheral interventions; Covers everything clinical and practical that today’s interventional cardiologist needs to know; Offers enriched and updated content all year long.

1 Over the past decades, percutaneous-based interventional cardiology has witnessed a remarkable journey, ranging from development of techniques for measuring intracardiac physiology and assessing coronary anatomy to interventions that rivaled or replaced.

Hemodynamic monitoring is one of the major diagnostic tools available in the acute care setting to diagnose cardiovascular insufficiency and monitor changes over time in response to interventions. However, the rationale and efficacy of hemodynamic monitoring to affect.

Catheter-based interventions have evolved to address a variety of needs through innovation and clinical evidence. The field of interventional cardiology and interventional vascular medicine now comprises the dominant diagnostic and therapeutic field within cardiovascular medicine, and continues to grow in terms of patients managed and physicians s: 3.

During the study period there was fixed daily staffing by two board certified invasive/interventional senior staff, two interventional fellows in training, post graduate year (PGY)-7, one first year PGY-4 and either one second year PGY-5 or third year PGY-6 cardiology Fellow.Nowadays, advancements in the oncology sector regarding diagnosis methods allow us to specifically detect an increased number of cancer patients, some of them in incipient stages.

However, one of the main issues consists of the invasive character of most of the diagnosis protocols or complex medical procedures associated with it, that impedes part of the patients to undergo routine checkups.
